Procedure & Declaration of UGC NET Result 2024

The NTA determines the UGC NET 2024 results by following these steps:

  • The number of candidates who qualify the exam is set to be six percent of those who appear for both papers of the UGC NET exam.
  • Slots are assigned to various categories according to the Government of India's reservation policy.
  • To be eligible for 'JRF and eligibility for Assistant Professor' or 'eligibility for Assistant Professor only,' candidates must take both Paper-I and Paper-II and achieve the minimum qualifying percentage specified below.
  • The number of candidates qualifying in a subject for a particular category is calculated using the formula provided below. The aggregate percentage of the two papers, corresponding to the number of slots determined, sets the UGC NET cutoff for Assistant Professor eligibility in Economics for the SC category. This formula is also used to establish the subject-wise qualifying cutoff for all categories.
  • Candidates who applied for both JRF and Assistant Professor eligibility are selected for JRF from the total number of qualifying candidates determined in above step.
  • The total number of JRF slots is allocated to different categories based on the Government of India's reservation policy. The aggregate percentage of scores from both papers, corresponding to the number of JRF slots, sets the qualifying cutoff for JRF in Economics for the ST category.

This method is applied for awarding JRF slots across all subjects and categories.
