UGC NET Percentile Score

Percentile score in UGC NET is a normalized score, which shows rank about candidates compared with other examinees. The percentile score can be calculated as under:
Percentile Score = [(Number of candidates who scored less than or equal to your score) / (Total number of candidates appearing in the exam)] × 100

Let’s check an example, how to calculate Percentile score:

Candidate Raw Marks (Out of 300) Total Candidates in Shift Candidates Who Scored Below Percentile Score
Candidate A 180 10,000 9700 (9700/10000) × 100 = 97.0%
Candidate B 150 10,000 8000 (8000/10000) × 100 = 80.0%
Note: Percentile is not the percentage of marks. Percentile score gives ranking of candidates relative to other candidates.

How to Calculate UGC NET Score?

UGC NET Score can be calculated using the following process:

Example of UGC NET Score Calculation

Paper Number of Questions Marks per Question Correct Answers Total Marks
Paper 1 50 2 38 38 × 2 = 76
Paper 2 100 2 78 78 × 2 = 156
Total Score 76 + 156 = 232
In this case, the raw score is 230 out of 300, but the normalized score and percentiles might be different, depending on the difficulty of the shifts. NTA UGC NET Result 2024 Out | UGC NET Final Cut Off 2024 | UGC NET June 2024 Result | Aditi Mam
