Kerala TET Exam 2025 Educational Qualification
Category I: Lower Primary Teacher (Classes 1 to 5)
- Class 12 (Higher Secondary) or Equivalent with a Minimum of 45% Marks, along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
- Class 12 with a Minimum of 50% Marks, along with a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) degree.
- Class 12 with a Minimum of 50% Marks, along with a 2-year Diploma in Education (D.Ed) (Special Education) approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
- Graduation in Any Stream, Along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).
Category II: Upper Primary Teacher (Classes 6 to 8)
- Mandatory Qualification
- Graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 45% marks (as per NCTE guidelines) and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree in the relevant subject.
- Alternative Qualifications
- Higher Secondary (Class 12) with 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- OR Higher Secondary (Class 12) with 50% marks and a 4-year B.A./B.Sc. or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed.
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH categories are eligible for a 5% relaxation in the minimum qualifying marks.
Category III: High School Teacher (Classes 9 to 12)
- BA/ BSc/ B.Com with marks of at least 45% and a B.Ed. A degree in the subject concerned (from any of the universities in Kerala or from any other university recognised as equivalent)
- For those who have MSc. Ed. In Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology, A degree with not less than 50 per cent of the marks of one of the Regional Institutes of Education funded by NCERT will be eligible to apply for the subject matter concerned. For the subjects of Botany and Zoology, those with MSc. Ed., Ed. It is possible to apply for a Degree in Life Science with not less than 50 per cent marks from any of the Regional Institutes of Education.
- Candidates from SC/ST and differently-abled categories will be provided with a relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum qualifying marks. Candidates from OBC & OEC categories will be given a relaxation of 3% in the qualifying marks to appear for the KTET III.
Category IV: Specialist Teachers & Language Teachers
