U SET Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are desirous of appearing for U SET should fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

1. U SET Educational Eligibility

• Candidates must have a Master’s Degree recognized by UGC.
• The Association of Indian Universities is the authority for evaluating Indian or foreign postgraduate diplomas/certificates for equivalence.

2. Minimum Marks Required

• For the general category, 55% marks in the Master’s Degree or equivalent are required. For reserved categories (OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PWD) 50% marks in Master’s Degree or equivalent are required.

3. Relaxation for Ph.D. Holders

• Those candidates who hold Ph.D. and their Master’s exam before 19th September 1991 are eligible for relaxation in aggregate marks by 5% (from 55% to 50%).

4. Candidates Appearing in Final Year

• Candidates appearing in the final year of the Master’s degree are also eligible to apply provisionally.
• Must obtain the desired percentage, which is either 55% or 50% for the reserved categories, within two years of the declaration of result for U-SET to claim eligibility for the Assistant Professor post.
• Certificates will only be issued after valid mark sheets are submitted.

U SET Age Restriction

• There is no age limit to apply for U-SET.

U SET Category Certification Requirements

• The reserved category candidates need to have valid, attested category certificates.
• Candidates belonging to OBC-NCL must have a non-creamy layer certificate issued within the last year.
• Candidates failing to produce valid certificates will be treated as General Category.

U SET Exam 2025 Syllabus

The USET syllabus is prepared as per UGC NET and consists of a vast subject range as per each subject presented. Only one subject should be attempted by candidates from the above list. Candidates are required to select their post-graduation subject. If the candidate’s post-graduation subject is not in the above list, then such a candidate is eligible for appearing in UGC NET/CSIR NET. U SET Application Form

The expected date of release for USET Application Form 2025 is late November, 2025 from the Kumaun University at Nainital. In order to apply for the Uttarakhand State Eligibility Test, candidates need to visit the official website to fill out an application form. • Online Payment: The fee of the candidates can be submitted online through net banking/credit cards/debit cards.
• First Step to pay the fee online. Click on ‘PAY FEE’ available on the U-SET website and strictly follow the steps. Now, take the print out of the payment receipt which is generated immediately after your successful transaction. 
• Through Challan-Candidates would also be able to deposit the fee by challan form  along with cash only at SBI Banks only.
• The challan will be generated and printed from the SBI website.

U SET Admit Card 2025

The date of announcement of the KSET 2025 Admit Card is not yet announced, though it will be made downloadable a few days prior to the exam. The U-SET Admit Card can be downloaded after the successful completion of the application process from the official website of U-SET. It would serve as a proof of eligibility and should be taken along with a valid photo ID to the exam center. Without the admit card, no candidate will be allowed entry into the hall of examination.
