The NTA has a structured procedure to declare results:
Determine the number of candidates who qualify 6% of the total no. of aspirants
Distribution of quotas for all categories on reservations basis.
Eligibility Requirements:
General / EWS: Minimum aggregate of 40% marks in both the papers
Reserved category: Minimum aggregate of 35% marks in both the papers
Calculate qualification cut-offs subject wise and category
Reservation basis JRF slots to be assigned
After the declaration of result, you can download your scorecard by using your Application Number and Password. The scorecard will carry:
Personal Information
Examination Details
Marks Secured
Percentile Scores
Subject-specific Data such as number of candidates registered, etc.
Date of issuing NET Certificate
You will get the e-certificate on the UGC NET certificate portal. Download it using your application number and date of birth. Remember:
Assistant Professor's certificate: Life long
JRF award letter: is valid for three years from the date of issue
The NTA shortlists 6% of total candidates for the merit list and accordingly makes them eligible for the Assistant Professor posts in any University/College throughout the country. A separate merit list is also prepared for the JRF qualifiers.
In case of subjects having multiple shifts, the normalization process that the NTA has used is as follows:
Raw marks to be converted into NTA Scores (percentiles)
Calculate NTA Scores for all shifts and then consolidate them
If the percentiles vary for Shift 1 and Shift 2, utilize the lowest percentile as the eligibility cut-off
For example: suppose in Shift 1, the 40% mark cuts off at the 78th percentile and in Shift 2, the same mark cuts off at the 79th percentile, then the candidates scoring between the 78th percentile and above in both shifts will be eligible in the General Category.
