The University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced a new date for the highly anticipated UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) 2024 examination. Originally slated for June 16, 2024, the exam has now been postponed to June 18, 2024 (Tuesday). This decision comes after careful consideration of feedback received from candidates across the country.
The announcement was made by UGC Chairman Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, who took to the microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter) to share the news. In his tweet, he stated, "The National Testing Agency and UGC have decided to shift the UGC-NET from 16 June (Sunday) to 18 June 2024 (Tuesday) because of feedback received from candidates."
Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the UGC NET is a crucial examination for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Assistant Professor position, as well as the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian universities and colleges. The exam is held twice a year, and the rescheduling of the June session is expected to provide more convenience and flexibility to the aspirants.
According to the UGC Chairman's tweet, the NTA will be conducting the UGC NET 2024 exam in the OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) mode across India on a single day, June 18, 2024. An official notification with further details is expected to be issued by the NTA shortly.
The decision to reschedule the UGC NET 2024 exam demonstrates the authorities' commitment to addressing the concerns and feedback of the candidates. By considering their inputs, the UGC and NTA aim to ensure a smooth and convenient examination process for all aspirants.
Candidates preparing for the UGC NET 2024 are advised to stay updated with the official notifications and announcements from the NTA and UGC websites. It is crucial to plan and prepare accordingly, considering the revised date of June 18, 2024.
With the new date in place, aspirants now have additional time to refine their preparation strategies and ensure they are well-equipped to tackle the challenges of the UGC NET 2024 examination. The rescheduling is expected to provide a more conducive environment for candidates, ultimately leading to a fair and successful examination process.
