Eligibility Criteria

The general eligibility requirement is a Master's Degree in the concerned subject with 50% marks and a B.Ed degree from a recognized university. However, there are exceptions for certain subjects:

  • Botany, Zoology: MSc.Ed in respective subject or Life Science with 50% marks from NCERT Regional Institutes

  • Some subjects like Commerce, French, German, etc., do not require a B.Ed degree

  • Biotechnology: Master's Degree with 50% marks and B.Ed in Natural Science

Note: First-year PG/B.Ed candidates are not eligible to apply.

The Kerala SET 2024 includes two papers:

1. Paper I: 120 questions (60 General Knowledge + 60 Aptitude in Teaching)

2. Paper II: Subject-specific with 120 questions (except Mathematics and Statistics with 80 questions)

Each question carries one mark, with Mathematics and Statistics questions worth 1.5 marks each. There is no negative marking.
