HPSC PGT Exam 2024: Dates, Schedule, and Vacancies Announced

The Haryana Public Service Commission has released all-important dates relating to the recruitment of Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) in 2024. This hiring exercise accommodates a total of 3,069 vacancies under various subjects. The following are the significant features of HPSC PGT Exam 2024.

Schedule

HPSC has prescribed a revised schedule for PGT positions:

• Screening Test: October 13 to October 27, 2024

• Subject Knowledge Test: September 12 to November 24, 2024

• Interviews: September to December 2024

Note: PGT Economics, English, Hindi : Rescheduled date- November 3, 2024. Admit Cards available from October 28, 2024

Vacancy Details

All the 3,069 vacancies are divided into the two cadres: ROH and Mewat into 31 subjects. The subjects having more than 200 categories are as follows:

• Mathematics: 456

• Physics: 446

• Chemistry: 255

• Political Science: 342

• Biology: 233

How to Apply

Application online at official website of HPSC. The window of application is open in between July 25 to August 14, 2024. Special application window in between August 22-27, 2024 has been opened for applicants who are getting eligible for this recruitment which was published earlier through Advt. No. 13/2019 for certain subjects.

Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification: Educational postgraduate with minimum 50% marks alongside B.Ed.

• Language Requirement: Candidate with Hindi/Sanskrit or Hindi as a subject in 10+2/B.A/M.A

• Teaching Qualification: HTET Level III/STET qualified

• Age Limit: 18-42 years (45 years for current Haryana Education Department teachers)

Application Fees

• General (Male): Rs. 1,000

• General (Female) / SC / BCA / BCB / ESM / EWS: Rs. 250

• PH/PwD (Haryana): No fee

Exam Pattern

The selection process is divided into three stages:

1. Screening Test (25% weightage)

   • 100 objective type questions

   • 2 hours duration

2. Subject Knowledge Test (87.5% weightage)

   • Descriptive exam

   • 150 marks

   • 3 hours duration

3. Interview (12.5% weightage)

Selected candidates have to secure a minimum qualifying marks at every stage for further shortlisting.

Pay scale:

Immediately after selection, selected candidates will be placed under FPL 8 pay scale (Rs. 47,600 - Rs. 1,51,100), under the 7th Pay Commission, with an approximate in-hand salary that ranges between Rs. 65,000 to Rs. 80,000, per month.

Skill Test of Subject

The HPSC has declared following dates for skill test for some specified subjects:

• PGT Physical Education: September 7, 2024

• PGT Music and Fine Arts: 06 September 2024.
