The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been entrusted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) with the task of conducting UGC-NET, which is a Test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for ‘Assistant Professor’ as well as ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ in Indian Universities and Colleges.
The UGC-NET is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode w.e.f. December 2018 onwards.
Awarding of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and/ or Eligibility for Assistant Professorship depends on the aggregate performance of the candidate in Paper-I and Paper-II of UGC-NET. The candidates qualifying only for Assistant Professorship are not eligible to be considered for the award of JRF. Candidates who qualify the eligibility test for Assistant Professorship are governed by the rules and regulations of the concerned Universities/Colleges/State Governments, as the case may be for recruitment of Assistant Professor.
UGC-NET is conducted twice every year (June & December). Due to the outbreak of COVID- 19 pandemic in 2020 & 2021, the cycles of UGC NET were merged and conducted together.
In order to regularize the UGC-NET examination cycle, the National Testing Agency (NTA), with the concurrence of UGC is conducting UGC NET December 2022 in the month of February & March 2023 in 83 subjects, at selected cities across the country.
Going a step further and to regularize the exam cycle, the NTA has released exam dates for the latter half of the year and the exam will be held from 13th to 22nd June 2023.
As NTA gears up to conduct the exam in a proper manner, students also need to prepare themselves for the exam in a dedicated manner. As the form filling drew to an end, one of the questions boggling the mind of the candidates is that how they can download the admit card of the exam and when will these be updated on the official website.
Our JRF team is the best in the business and almost all of them have already been selected as JRF. So, in your preparation journey we will be the best guide for you and our experienced team will prove to be a vital cog in your preparation journey.
The candidates will be able to download the admit cards by logging into the account that was registered while filling out the application form for UGC NET. Admit cards will be updated a few days before the exam and candidates can download their admit cards then.
The candidates will be able to see their NET Exam City way before they are able to download the admit card. This is done so that relevant travel arrangements can be made by the candidate.
In case, a candidate is not able to download his/her admit card or there is any discrepancy in the particulars given on the admit card, s/he should call the following helpline numbers of the NTA - 8076535482 and 7703859909. Candidates can call on these numbers on working days from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
In case of any error on the NTA NET admit card, the official website of the exam informs, “In such cases, candidates would appear in the examination with the already downloaded Admit Card. However, NTA will take necessary action to make corrections in the record later.”
Non-fulfilment of UGC NET eligibility criteria
Admit cards will also not be issued to candidates who do not fulfil the UGC NET eligibility 2023. Regarding the same, the official website states, “Issue of Admit Cards, however, shall not necessarily mean acceptance of eligibility which shall be further scrutinized at subsequent stages of the admission process.”
Incorrect credentials
In case, candidates forget their login credentials, they will not be able to download the admit card. In such a situation, candidates need to click on the “I can’t access my account” link in the admit card download window, which will help in the regeneration of the credentials.
Slow internet
In the case of no or slow internet, candidates will not be able to download the admit card. Therefore, candidates are advised to ensure a smooth internet connection before downloading the admit card.
